The Friends of the Library's Annual Meeting has been rescheduled to Sunday, February 22 at 2 PM. Stephen Turner will still be the featured speaker for this event at The Oratory in Rock Hill, SC. 

Stephen Turner, a Rock Hill native and its former head of Economic Development, previously spoke at the Friends Annual Meeting in 2024.

This year, he'll discuss his new book, A Different History: African Americans at the White Homestead, Rock Hill, SC, 1838–1870. Copies of Stephen's books will be available for purchase. 

The Annual Meeting will be held at the Rock Hill Oratory's Pope John Center on Sunday, February 22, at 2:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, but advance registration is recommended. Register online or email yorkcountyfriendsofthelibrary@gmail.com.

This program aligns with YCL’s cultural literacy framework, which addresses the ability to understand and appreciate the similarities and differences in the customs, values, and beliefs of one’s own culture and the cultures of others.
