***Important Notice*** Due to the winter storm heading to York County, the Friends of the Library's Annual Meeting has been rescheduled to Sunday, February 22 at 2 PM. Stephen Turner will still be the featured speaker for this event at The Oratory in Rock Hill, SC. Registration details for the new time and date are forthcoming. 

 

Stephen Turner, a Rock Hill native and its former head of Economic Development, previously spoke at the Friends Annual Meeting in 2024.

This year, he'll discuss his new book, A Different History: African Americans at the White Homestead, Rock Hill, SC, 1838–1870. Copies of Stephen's books will be available for purchase. 

The Annual Meeting will be held at the Rock Hill Oratory's Pope John Center on Sunday, January 25, at 2:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, but advance registration is recommended. Register online or email yorkcountyfriendsofthelibrary@gmail.com.
