Homeschool Hangout

Welcome to the Homeschool Hangout--a space for local area elementary and middle homeschoolers to get together for learning, socializing, etc. 

Registration is recommended but not required beginning September 20th. During this event time, the meeting room space will be open for homeschoolers/homeschool families to use--no structured programming will be provided, but craft supplies and board games will be available to use.

This program aligns with YCL’s arts and creativity literacy framework, which addresses the ability to understand art history, styles, techniques, the ways to discuss art and learning through creative expression, creative activities, visualization, and creative thinking; YCL’s family literacy framework, which addresses the ability to incorporate whole families into activities between parents and children in order to build formative developmental skills; YCL’s information and media literacy framework, which addresses the ability to seek, evaluate, use, and create information effectively to achieve personal, social, occupational, and educational goals; and YCL’s social and emotional literacy framework, which addresses the ability to “read,” recognize, and respond appropriately to emotions and feelings in oneself and in others; likewise learning how to build and maintain respectful relationships.
