Program Description

Event Details

In the 1800s, Native Americans were violently removed from the American South, changing the region and those who took their land. Join author and Professor Dr. Evan Nooe from USC-Lancaster/Native American Studies Center as he discusses his award-winning research on how settlers in the pre-Civil War South experienced and remembered this time. You'll discover how white Southerners used aggression against Native Americans and turned their resistance into a weapon to shape the region's identity around the forced removal of Indigenous People.

Registration is suggested, but walk-ins are welcome. Register online or call (803) 981-5825, starting May 25.
