South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Archaeology Outreach will be visiting York County Library to provide two different, but equally fun, programs for teens! Both of these hands-on programs will be available this summer for teens 12-18.“Dig” into the one that best suits your inner Indiana Jones! Registration opens two weeks before the event.

Pottery Re-fit - Learn about techniques used by archaeologists in the lab! Participants will decorate small ceramic pots, then “accidentally” drop them! Using glue, a brush, and puzzle power, you will reassemble your pot to take home!

This program aligns with YCL’s cultural literacy framework, which addresses the ability to understand and appreciate the similarities and differences in the customs, values, and beliefs of one’s own culture the cultures of others.
