Program Description

Event Details

The York Public Library will host Silent Book Club on the last Wednesday of each month from 5:30 - 6 :30 p.m. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and we will offer 15 minutes to have a small snack and get settled with your book or kindle. Silent reading will start at 5:30 p.m. Silent Book Club offers a unique book club experience. A socially acceptable way to be anti-social! There are no assigned readings and everyone is welcome to join. Registration is not required, but you may register if you would like a text reminder.

There is dedicated reading time surrounded by other bibliophiles, before and after which there will be time to socialize as much or as little as you like. BYOB! (Bring Your Own Book)

This program aligns with YCL's social and emotional literacy framework, which addresses the ability to "read", recognize, and respond appropriately to emotions and feelings in oneself and in others; likewise, learning how to build and maintain respectful relationships.
