Calling all yarn craftivists!
We are looking for 15 community service-minded crafters to make beanies, knit or crochet, for Pilgrim's Inn this winter. York County Library collects new or handmade hats, gloves and scarves each year.
This event will focus on hats. The library will provide yarn and patterns on Oct 26 at our Kick-Off drop-in. Participants may stay to start on their project, or simply pick up a kit to take home.
During November and December, participants are welcome to attend Good Yarn Stitch Club on Monday mornings (see calendar for dates), if you need help or just want to have community while you work.
On Jan 4, 2025, we will gather again for a Collection Reception. Participants who return at least one completed hat will receive a Library Reward and be entered in a door prize drawing.
Registration required, beginning Oct 12.
Registration includes both events.
Register online or by calling 803-981-5825.
Limit 15. Adults - Ages 18+.
This program aligns with YCL’s arts and creativity literacy framework, which addresses the ability to understand art history, styles, techniques, the ways to discuss art, and learning through creative expression, creative activities, visualization, and creative thinking.
